My 10 month old screams the whole time he's in his carseat. He just hates it and it make me so sad! I try singing/talking to him but he can't hear me over the screams.
We got a mirror so he can see us in the rearview mirror and that really helped. The mirror also lights up and plays music with a remote control that I keep in the front with me. It usually distracts him from his crying.
This is really tough, we have the same issue with our now 5 month old. At the moment we are just limiting time in the car, but I'm aware that's not always possible. Might be messy but can you offer him a rusk?
Our son hated the infant car seat. After we switched to the convertible (he was about 3 months old) all the screaming stopped. I hope you find something that works because I know it's so painful to hear them scream and cry back there.
How about special toys just for the car and swap them out frequently?
ReplyDeleteIs he in a convertible car seat? We switched my son to one and he like it better because he was up higher and could see more.
